Nemo turned up on his now-owner’s doorstep 12 years ago as a stray. Despite having two cats already, when nobody claimed him, he ended up staying. As his portrait suggests, Nemo is a pretty chilled out boy, but he’s not really a lap cat. He goes crazy for cat-nip and is very fond of duck breast, cooked especially for him of course!

When I started Nemo’s pencil portrait I was concerned about how well a white cat on white paper would work, but I was surprised by just how many colours eventually went into it – especially in capturing the softness of the fur and those beautiful blue eyes.
